Laura Bonetzky-Joseph, M.A., R.M.T, grew up in a medical family on the south shore of Boston, Massachusetts. Laura's father has been a holistic osteopathic physician and surgeon with a focus on general health, wellness & dermatology for over 30+ years servicing the south shore, who is currently the medical director overseeing MedSpaNew England.
Laura’s mother is a retired registered nurse and a nurse administrator with 20+ yrs experience. All of Laura’s life has been engulfed in the field of health & wellness. She assisted in the office management of her father’s medical practice since the age of 18 and over the coarse of the past 20 years, she has learned about general health care, alternative holistic therapies, dermatology, challenges with heath care system, assisting in office procedures, phlebotomy, EKG, administration, and more.
Laura is very compassionate and passionate about what she does. She is always studying and looking for ways to improve and better serve her clients, and works on implementing services that she or someone close to her has personally had a positive experience. Laura
has studied under Rita Berkowitz, LeRoy Malouf, Rachelle Croteau,
Mary D'Alba and Britain's own Brenda Lawrence and is always taking holistic,
spiritual, & medical courses to better serve her clients. She is a certified medical assistant and an Usui Reiki Master & Practitioner and a facilitator for various
workshops, groups, events & classes such as Meditation, Stress
Reduction, Reiki, and Food Sensitivities. Laura is also PPx Therapies, and practices alternative therapies to modern medicine working in conjunction with other medical professionals. Laura's
goal is to attain her Nurse Practitioner's License within the next coming
couple years.
Her desire to help others stems from her daughter born
with a variety of health challenges including a food sensitivity to almost everything.
Fortunately, it was with Laura's training and mother's instinct that pushed her forward and with help of family
in the medical field, she discovered her daughter had a serious internal birth
defect that required urgent surgery at the age of 3 months. The experience
changed her family’s lives forever and led Laura to become interested in food
sensitivities and what she calls "an under-diagnosed and unrecognized
field heading towards epidemic levels due to all the chemically and genetically
modified foods, over-processing, over-vaccinating, and the overuse of
anti-bacterial soaps." (New
England Business Bulletin; Pamela Berard; Nov 2010)
Laura is also active in fund-raising for Old Colony Hospice, a great organization who assisted a family member surrounding end of life issues and maintained contact with our family for over a year after the passing of her aunt. This organization focused on the whole needs of the family as the family in itself has end of life challenges too. She was so grateful in what they did for her family, Laura wanted to help raise money for them. In April 2005, Laura organized a team within 2wks and placed 2nd in fund-raising and 3rd for the team with the most enthusiasm. In 2006 her team was #1 in both categories and was honored to be chosen to kick off and lead the walk carrying the banner in honor for those remembered. Laura believes that everyone deserves the right to pass while maintaining their dignity and quality of life to the best of their ability. See our photo gallery.
In the fall of 2006, Laura was honored to be asked to be part of the planning committee for Old Colony Hospice’s fall gala, a fabulous organization she was proud to be associated with and one she truly believed in.
Since 2005, Laura has also donated many services to benefit this organization and holds a monthly reiki for hospice fundraiser in her office. calendar
Laura was also the founder and chair for the local Business to Business networking group, Network 4 Success, from May 2006-2008.
She finds it a rewarding experience to be able to volunteer her time with assisting survivors of domestic abuse in various areas in the healing process starting with our minds and views of self. In 2008, Laura facilitated a raffle for FREE laser and other services to a survivor of abuse. The positive transition and change in this person's life was extraordinary and very rewarding to be a small part to enhance someone's self worth and self esteem in a way that had been greatly diminished over years of abuse.
In the fall of 2009, Laura also donated services to benefit the R.O.S.E Fund, a scholarship & grant program for domestic violence survivors to assist survivors with regaining their self esteem. She has also volunteered her time for this organization in 2009-2010.
She has received the Healthy Living Magazine Award in 2008, 2009, & 2010 for her contributions to the health & wellness communities as well as the 2009 & 2010 One of the Top Young Professionals Under The Age of 40 by The New England Bulletin. See the Awards Page for more information.
"To have a small part in making a difference in someone's life, brightens my day. I am honored to be in a position to be able to do this". Laura also travels to domestic violence support groups offering FREE healing & meditation. She also holds a monthly reiki for hospice fundraiser in her office. Calendar
"I grew up in a medical family all my life and wanted to go to college to be a medical illustrator. However, things change in your life, and you never know why at the time, but my years of marketing, design, and and art experience with that artistic eye has assisted me in what I am today.
If you treat your skin like a canvas then you can see people differently. You look at the skin differently and many times see things that others would not. I believe having this gift assists me with my clients. Besides, laser is something I had always wanted to have done myself and starting this business was a win-win situation.
Our goal is to expand our services that best meet the growing needs of our client's in way traditional medicine is unable to do. We combine the best of medical and holistic treatments derived mostly from personal experiences. We need modern medicine. However, everything can not be fixed or managed sadly with a pill.
Our goal is to help you become healthy inside and out in very natural ways integrating eastern and western therapies."
